What are the Park Place Cottages like?
The cottages are charming "little houses" that are nicely furnished and decorated and fully equipped. There are four cottages (with five units) at Park Place Cottages. The Cherry Cottage, Butternut Cottage and Carriage House are all two bedroom, 1 bath cottages. The Duplex Cottage has two 1-bedroom suites- the Cedar Suite-A and the Pine Suite-B.

What is the location and setting of the Park Place Cottages?
Park Place Cottages is located on the south end of Ephriam in central Door County, right next to Peninsula Park. We have two street entrances to the cottages. You can enter at 9709 Highway 42 or from 9726 Highland Road (the middle road going to the park). This is a 6+ acre setting that combines woods and a park-like setting with lawn, mature treees and flower gardens. You can literally ride your bike or walk right out the back of the property and into Peninsula Park.

How far is Park Place Cottages from the water?
We are not on the water and don't have a water view, but the water is close by. The nearest beach is the Ephraim Public Beach one mile away. It's a nice sandy swimming beach and there are public restrooms. The whole village is laid out around the waterfront in downtown Ephraim, a short distance away.

How far are you from Peninsula State Park?
Park Place Cottages backs right up to the park. You can ride your bike or walk right out the back of the property and into the Park. Peninsula State Park is one of Wisconsin's largest state parks with 3,3776 gorgeous acres and 8 miles of shoreline. There are beautiful beaches, a summer theatre and an 18-hole golf course. Nicolet Bay is an exceptional sand beach in the middle of the park and you can rent bicycles and all types of non-motorized water there (kayaks, canoes, sailboats, etc.).

How well equipped are Park Place cottages?
You will find the cottages nicely equipped. All linens are provided- sheets, towels, and kitchen linens. If you plan to go to the beach, please bring your own beach towels. There is no washer and dryer available. The kitchens are well equipped for cooking and supplied with dishes, silverware, pots and pans and small appliances (a drip coffee pot and filters are provided). Gas grills are on the property. Toilet paper, paper towels and soap are provided.

Do you allow pets?
No, sorry, we do not allow pets and do not make exceptions to our no pet policy.

Is housekeeping provided during your stay?
No, we do not provide housekeeping services while you are here. If you stay longer that one week, fresh linens (sheets and towels) will be provided.

Are your accommodations smoke free?
Yes, they are. You are welcome to smoke outdoors, but no indoor smoking is allowed.

Do you have air conditioning?
All of the Park Place Cottages have a window air conditioner. All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans.

Do you have boat and bicycle parking?
If you are bringing a boat, there is plenty of room to park a boat trailer on the property. If you are bringing bicyles, you are welcome to keep them in our metal building.

Can we have on outdoor fire?
Sorry, the Village of Ephraim has an ordinance that prohibits outdoor fires. No, you can't have an open fire, a fire pit or even one of the portable fire pits.

TV - Telephone - Internet?
The cottages have cable TV and DVD/VCR players. All of the cottages have private telephones for local calls. Free wireless internet is available on the property.

Bicycle rental?
We recommend Nicolet Bay Beach Rentals in Peninsula State Park or the Nor Door Sport & Bicycle Rental in Fish Creek.

Boat rental?
You can rent all types of non-motorized boats at Nicolet Bay Beach Rentals in Peninsula State Park. They have kayaks, canoes, and small sailboats. Pontoon boats are available to rent at South Shore Pier in Ephraim, across from Wilson's Ice Cream Parlor. They also have captained charter sailboats that are operated from South Shore Pier. If you'd like to a charter fishing trip, there are several that operate from out of Baileys Harbor.

What is the availability for the cottages?
Park Place Cottages are available from early May through the end of October. There is always a 2-night minimum stay and a 3-night minimum stay for all holiday weekends.

What are arrival and departure times?
In the summertime check-in is anytime after 3:00 PM and departure time is 10:00 AM. Our guests must adhere to those times, so the housekeeper can get in as scheduled. During the off-season we have more flexibility with arrival and departure times and will work with you to accommodate early arrival or late departure times if requested in advance.

What do you accept for payment?
Sorry, we do not accept credit cards. Your personal check, cash or traveler checks are fine.
