- Understand Private Wells and Private Wastewater Systems.
The city of Strurgeon Bay and the Village of Sister Bay have municipal
sewer and water systems. Most of the other villages have sewer systems.
Anytime you get outside of the villages, homes will need private wells and
septic systems. There is a good resource available - the booklet "Door
County Guide to Small Wastewater Systems" . You can request this from the
Door County Environmental Council at P.O. Box 114, Fish Creek, WI 54212.
- Work with a Good Real Estate Agent.
Choose somebody who is knowledgable and experienced. Choose and agent who
is a member of the Door County Board of REALTORS and the Wisconsin REALTORS
Association. A good agent can guide you through the process to find "your
piece of the peninsula".
